The BMA Mind Garden

Mind Garden

The garden of the British Medical Association will be the setting
for a series of evening lectures and discussions on how gardens,
plant medicines and ‘green prescriptions’ can contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients. There will be two evening events presented as part of the Chelsea Fringe Festival. During each evening, guests will be inspired by two special presentations and take a guided tour of the BMA Mind Garden.

Members of the Lambeth GP Food Co-op are presenting their experience of growing food together as a co-operative community project on Thursday 9th June. For details on this event please follow this link.

Lambeth GP Food Co-op’s First Market Stall

The first market stall at Denmark Hill was a great success.

On Thursday 28th April, Lambeth GP Food Co-op in partnership with Medirest ran their first market stall at Denmark Hill following their launch event on NHS Sustainability Day back in March.

The Lambeth GP Food Co-op is a co-operative of patients, doctors, nurses and local residents who build gardens in GP surgeries to enable its members to learn how to grow food. The co-operative is the first of its kind in the NHS.

The Co-op have been busy growing and harvesting their produce over the recent weeks, which enabled them to display a great array of nutritious, colourful, fresh, locally grown produce. Produce on sale included kale, cabbage, beetroot, herbs and lettuce.

The market stall went down well with staff and visitors to the hospital, with all produce being sold. People were also learning more about the The Lambeth GP Food Co-op in general.

As the market stall was so successful, the team have confirmed that it will be a regular event at Denmark Hill this Summer.
