Patient Participation in Action: Making the NHS England video at Jennie Lee garden.
The Lambeth GP Food Co-op has been awarded a ‘Celebrating Participation in Healthcare’ community grant by NHS England.
Only 15 grants were made available nationally and we are delighted to be one of the successful bids from over 100 bids received from across the country.
The grant has enabled us to produce a professional video highlighting the patient experience of working together to grow food which will soon be made available to the whole NHS across the country.
We are organising a special preview for the patients who took part in the video and our supporters.
Thank you for your help on a cold but thankfully dry day!
NHS Vertical Farm Workshop
With financial support from Guys and St Thomas’ Charity we are exploring the future of food growing through the idea of an NHS Vertical Farm in Lambeth.
The historic meeting for this pioneering initiative was held on 2nd December 2016 at the Health Foundry, a collaborative workspace for people using digital technologies to improve health and wellbeing.
Presentations from Sian Moxon Senior Lecturer, The CASS Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University and Mark Horler, Operations Manager, Association for Vertical Farming UK; encouraged a lively and informative discussion.
Lots of good ideas about the feasibility of an NHS Vertical farm situated in an urban health economy.
2nd Vertical Farming Workshop
To move the debate forward, we are holding a 2nd Workshop on:
Friday 3rd March 2017 – 9.30am to 12pm
Health Foundry, Canterbury House, 1 Royal Street, SE1 7LL

Coming together with
Feeding Britain and the
Lambeth food community to actively reduce hunger
The Lambeth GP Food Co-op and Feeding Britain held a consultation meeting on Tuesday 24th January to explore whether there could be ways to more systematically integrate the efforts of health professionals into wider initiatives on food poverty.
We want to work together to ensure that some of the some of the most vulnerable individuals and families in Lambeth are accessing support.
The meeting included food poverty projects, researchers, London Ambulance services and other critical stakeholders.
The next meeting will take place on Thursday 9th March.
If you are interested in attending future meetings or would like to be involved in the project please get in touch with us:
