Lambeth GP Food Co-op Video

The Lambeth GP Food Co-op video has launched a video highlighting the patient experience of working together to grow food.

We were awarded a ‘Celebrating Participation in Healthcare’ community grant by NHS England which has enabled us to make a professional video. Only 15 grants were made available nationally from over 100 bids received across the country.

NHS England are working with the Lambeth GP Food Co-op to promote the video which will raise our regional and national profile.

Recipient of NHS England’s Celebrating Participation in Healthcare grant, 2016.

Newsletter August 2017

It’s been a busy summer for the Lambeth GP Food Co-op. The food growing sites including the latest site in Stockwell are blossoming and like all good gardeners, we’re already planning for autumn.

Our August Newsletter has details about the next monthly stall selling produce from the food growing sites at King’s College Hospital on Thursday 31st August and we’ve been invited to present our work at the College of Medicine: Food. The future Medicine conference on 14 September 2017.

We’re also preparing to present our experience of creating a community-led health co-operative at another prestigious event (watch this space!)

As well as contributions from postgraduate student interns Pauline and Kiu and the thoughts of John Worth, a member of the Board of Directors; Dr Shuo Zhang introduces herself as a new member of the Lambeth GP Food Co-op and an investor.

2nd NHS Vertical Farm workshop

We had a productive meeting on Friday 3rd March to discuss next steps in creating an NHS vertical farm.

Thank you to Mark Horler, the Operations Manager, Association for Vertical Farming UK for an insightful and stimulating presentation.

The third meeting to build on discussions and draft a proposal to create an NHS Vertical Farm will be in late April.

Discussing how a vision becomes a reality.
